The list of changes to the format of Physics Cup

The reason why the results of Physics Cup-2021 and 2020 were delayed was that the end of Physics Cup overlapped with the Nordic-Baltic Physics Olympiad which was tightly followed by EuPhO. The changes to the format serve the purpose of fast publication of final results.
1. The last (fifth) problem of PC will be the easiest one. There will be four weeks to solve Problem No 5, and the final deadline for submitting the solutions (17th April 2022) will not be postponed. The final results will be published on 24th April 2022. Problem  No 1 will be also relatively easy while Problem No 2 will be a very difficult one.
2. There will be gold, silver, and bronze awards with proportions similar to Physics Cup 2021, and depending on the quality of results, possibly also platinum awards. Everyone who managed to solve at least one problem correctly will receive a certificate about successful participation, and everyone who solved at least two problems will receive an honorable mention.

Distribution of problems

The first problem of Physics Cup – 2022 will be published at 1 pm (GMT), 21st November 2021At 1 pm (GMT) on the third Sunday of each month, between November 2021 and March 2022, a new problem will be published at https://physicscup.ee. The problems will be sent by e-mail to all the registered participants, too, but I cannot guarantee to send e-mails exactly at 1 pm GMT. Therefore, if you wish to access the problems as soon as possible, please read them online at physicscup.ee. I’ll send, however, the e-mail with each new problem and with each new hint as soon as I can.

You will be informed if your solution submitted within the previous week was correct or not at 1 pm each Sunday (registered participants will receive an e-mail with a non-public link to a page where all the results are listed).

Also, at 1 pm each Sunday, a new hint regarding the active problem is published at https://physicscup.ee. Keep in mind that with each new hint, the base score for correct solutions is decreased by 0.1 pts (for more details, cf. https://physicscup.ee/participate/).

The final deadline for submitting solutions for the N-th problem is usually when the N+1st problem is published. However, depending on the number of correct solutions, the deadline may be extended by one or two weeks.
